The Federation supports a healthcare system that delivers high quality outcome in a way that is equitable, accessible for all people. The idea of Community Health Networks is not new and there are many organisations implementing approaches that are delivering on improved access and better health outcomes.  Please join the Federation to hear from four speakers who will speak about their experiences with Community and Locality Networks.

Hon. Steve Chadwick

Putting her own spin on Community networks, she calls them Locality Networks and actively engages the concept in the Rotorua district where she is Mayor.  Networks she says, have the capacity to provide better and more equitable health services for New Zealanders.

Chiquita Hansen

Currently the Chief Executive of THINK Hauora and also has a key role as General Manager with the MidCentral DHB in Strategy, Planning and Performance Team.

Materoa Mar

Materoa has been involved in Māori health, Whanau Ora and other areas of Maori Development for more than 30 years and is currently a Board member for Mid Central DHB.

Amarjit Maxwell

Amarjit is the Programme Director for the Health Care Home National Collaborative. She will provide insight and ideas for supporting on the journey of networks, this will include positive examples and a focus on how the Collective Impact framework can be adapted to support networks across Aotearoa, New Zealand.
